Financial reports on the shares of Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, suggest that Grand Theft Auto 6 or GTA 6 will most likely be released in 2021 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Grand Theft Auto is one of the best-selling video game franchises in the world but has seen no new chapters since GTA V in 2013, although its multiplayer component Grand Theft Auto Online has been updated regularly over the years since then.

Rumors of an upcoming announcement for a sequel have followed each other for months, despite the few words of the development studio Rockstar. Seven years is a long gap for such an important series but the studio has focused its energies on 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2 and the constant update of GTA Online and Red Dead Online.

Now, according to a report by Investor Place, investors speculate that the alleged sequel could be launched next year for the new generation of consoles. The report points out that the global emergence of Coronavirus will cause significant problems for Take Two Interactive’s performance, in addition, the departure of Rockstar co-founder and writer Dan Houser has caused a heavy drop in the company’s actions.

Investors, therefore, expect Take-Two to plan major launches for the console to recover but don’t expect any of the company’s major franchises to arrive later this year. By contrast, 2021 would give them enough time to finish developing important titles, such as GTA 6, and give them access to a larger installation base for PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Although nothing has been announced yet, much evidence indicates that something is actually under development. A Rockstar North tax report reported that a new game was being developed, which was claimed to be the new GTA, which many believe will be announced soon.

The launch of a new Grand Theft Auto game is inevitable, and Take-Two Interactive needs a great game of sure success to recover from the poor results, and there would be no better way than to finally announce Grand Theft Auto 6.
