Deathloop Could Require A Permanent Internet Connection To Play

DEATHLOOP

Could Deathloop, the new time loop shooter from Arkane Studios, require a permanent internet connection? This is at least suggested with a corresponding note on the official PlayStation website.

With Deathloop, the Dishonored makers at Arkane Studios are currently developing a shooter that should stand out from the rest of the genre with unused game mechanics.

After the impressions and details so far indicated that we are dealing with a classic single-player adventure with Deathloop, the rumor is currently circulating that Deathloop could possibly rely on a permanent internet connection. The supposedly decisive clue was once again provided by the official PlayStation website.

In the corresponding product description, Deathloop is now listed with “Online play required.” Since an official statement from Arkane Studios or Bethesda Softworks is still pending, it remains to be seen what the whole thing is about in the end. It is conceivable that we are dealing with a simple mistake that will be cleared up shortly.

If there is an official statement on this topic, we will of course immediately bring you up to date information on it. Deathloop will be released on May 21, 2021 for the PC and PlayStation 5 and, according to the developer, it will score points with an innovative time loop mechanism.
