After having worked on the famous games of Gears of War series, the video game designer Cliff Bleszinski left Epic Games and established his own studio called Boss Key Productions. The studio unfortunately only worked on 2 projects before its premature closure. The reasons why these projects failed can be many. But Bleszinski identifies one related to LawBreakers: having released it on PlayStation 4 as an exclusive on consoles.

The renowned designer and head of Boss Key Productions took advantage of his Twitter account to comment on what may be one of the causes that caused LawBreakers, the studio’s first project, not to prosper. According to Bleszinski, “It was a mistake putting LawBreakers on Playstation over Xbox.”

You may be wondering what makes Bleszinski think about this. Well, the reasons are rather evident according to the developer. Since he thinks that it would have made more sense to launch the project on Xbox One. Considering that it is in the same brands of Gears of War that fans were in and had more contact with their career, so maybe they would have given the game a chance.

However, it is important to say that in 2017, when this title was released.  The PlayStation console already had a much larger user base than Xbox One, which is why Bleszinski and his team may have decided to launch LawBreakers on PlayStation 4 (PS4) as a console exclusive.

Unfortunately, the studio’s next game, Radical Heights also had no commercial success, forcing it not only to stop supporting both titles, but also to close the studio.

What do you think about the statements of Bleszinski? Do you think if he had released LawBreakers on Xbox One it would have been more successful? Did you play Radical Heights or LawBreakers? Tell us in the comments below.
