With a new release date now in hand, The Last of Us: Part II is now battling the current Coronavirus Pandemic in order to hit the market as a new installment in the franchise. The title, which suffered from leaks in recent days, has now just confirmed the format of its premiere that will be held in June.
The Last of Us: Part II Requires Minimum 100GB Free Space on PS4
According to the official statement published by PlayStation Blog after the presentation and release of the new thematic trailer. Sony made it clear that the physical edition of the game will have two Blu-Ray discs.
Now, the page of the title also refers to this information, having more details such as the size of the download of The Last of Us: Part II game, in case of its digital purchase: 100 Gigabytes free space is required on PS4 at least.
The above refers to the size of the game and how it optimizes its space when installing. On previous occasions, we’ve seen this in other AAA games that use an installation disc and a game disc to take current-generation games one step further.
Recently, the internet was filled with spoilers for The Last of Us: Part II story and gameplay, and it all happened just before Sony announced a new date for the Naughty Dog game. The company has issued a statement responding to that massive leak: “We know the last few days have been incredibly difficult for you. We feel the same. It’s disappointing to see the release and sharing of pre-release footage from development.
Do your best to avoid spoilers and we ask that you don’t spoil it for others. The Last of Us Part II will be in your hands soon. No matter what you see and hear, the final experience will be worth it,” the developers mentioned.
So now you know. We remind you that The Last of Us: Part II will release on June 19 this year on PS4.
