Team Ninja is Developing New Games, Announcement Will Be Made in 2021

Recently, the Japanese portal 4gamer.net published an interesting article that analyzes the year that is about to end and focuses on what can be expected from the gaming industry in 2021.

The text contains many quotes from numerous staff members belonging to Koei Tecmo (a Japanese holding company born in 2009 from the merger of the Koei and Tecmo video game development houses), including the works of Fumihiko Yasuda, Manager from the Team Ninja brand, who previously worked on the Ninja Gaiden and Nioh series:

“In February, we will release Nioh 2 Remastered: Complete Edition and The Nioh Collection—[the latter] containing everything from the Nioh series—for the PlayStation 5. I hope this can be an opportunity for people who had and had not played them to see how Nioh plays like on a new generation console. We are also preparing multiple announcements of new titles from Team Ninja in 2021, so please look forward to them!”

The versions dedicated to PlayStation 5 – Sony’s next-generation console – of Nioh and Nioh 2 will be released on February 5th. Recently, Yasuda himself had expressed on the Nioh series himself, stating that there are currently no plans for the development of a third chapter:

“At Team Ninja, the seven years-long development of the Nioh series will reach a resting point, and there are several projects that will begin full-scale development in 2021. I plan to change my development style to match my changing lifestyle and concentrate on new titles. As for me personally, I’ll try not to gain any more weight.”

Nioh, originally presented under the title of Oni, is a video game belonging to the genre of third-person action and was released in 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. The title is characterized by the rigid and uncompromising mechanics typical of souls like.
