Sony has launched a new PS5 beta update focusing on enhancing the DualSense controller’s sound features and Share Screen interactions. This update, available for selected users in specific countries, includes improvements to the DualSense and DualSense Edge wireless controllers’ built-in microphones and speakers. The enhancements aim to deliver higher volume sound for in-game sounds and voice chat, along with improved noise cancellation through a new AI machine learning model. This results in clearer voice chat audio by suppressing background noise such as button presses and game audio.
Share Screen Interactions:
Additionally, the update introduces new Share Screen Interactions, enabling viewers in full screen mode to use pointers and emoji reactions to interact more dynamically with the host’s gameplay. This feature allows viewers to highlight objects or areas on the screen and send visual encouragements through emoji reactions. For those concerned about distractions, the host has the option to disable these features.
Furthermore, the update offers the ability to adjust the brightness of the PS5 console’s power indicator, providing users with more customization options for their console’s visual indicators.
Sony plans to release the update globally in the coming months, inviting selected participants to experience these new features ahead of the broader rollout. This initiative reflects Sony’s ongoing efforts to enhance the PS5 system’s functionality and user experience based on community feedback and technological advancements.
