PlayStation 5 DualSense Adaptive Triggers are Breaking, According To Users

Released for more than a month, PlayStation 5 remains one of the most sought after gaming-themed products on the market, also given the limited availability of the console in this period.

As you well know, the launch of Sony’s next-gen peripheral was not that glorious, given that from the first days of use many users have reported various critical issues of all kinds, from excessive fan noise to the problem of downloading games. Unfortunately, according to what emerged from the main gaming-themed forums, even the new DualSense of PS5 would be starting to show some signs of abating.

According to the experience reported by some players, who were lucky enough to secure a PS5, the adaptive triggers on the new DualSense are starting to malfunction. A recent report revealed that while playing Spider-Man: Miles Morales, several players felt the R2 trigger snap, loosen, and stop responding.

The experience would have been confirmed by other users, who would have stated that over time the adaptive triggers of the DualSense, especially the R2 button, would have become less sensitive.

At the moment we don’t know if this is a critical issue affecting a limited number of defective units, but the fact remains that over 1,000 people have already reported having encountered the same problem with the DualSense adaptive triggers and the web is full of solutions for work around this problem, which suggests that several players are experiencing this malfunction.

It is unclear if Sony is already aware of the breakdown of the adaptive triggers of the new PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, but we trust that the colossus Japanese is examining the situation closely, and in the event that the problem involves many of the distributed units, intervenes decisively on the matter.

  • the best part is that even if you bought through playstation itself, you have to pay to have it shipped for repair, replacement, or rejection of your warranty request at their discretion. Other console issues from other companies i have had in the past, they sent me a replacement and a box to send back mine and would just charge me for the controller if they did not get the return in 30 days so i get to be controllerless for between 3 and 5 weeks.
