The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 will certainly be among the most remembered in the coming years.
After almost a decade of waiting, day one of the CD Projekt RED work showed much more negative than positive points: bugs, glitches, crashes, frame rates, and even more are present in every playable version of the title (the most affected those old-gen) that have in fact made the final experience in some ways unplayable or at least not enjoyable.
Despite this, sales have definitely started with a bang, so much so that all production and marketing costs have returned within a few days. In fact, according to the words of analyst Daniel Ahmad, Cyberpunk 2077 has sold more than 13 million copies between all the various platforms considering both the physical and digital versions: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.
The number shown is also to be considered net of refund requests. As you probably know, the excessive amount of bugs and problems in the game have caused a real anger in users, who have clamoured for a refund of the game then granted by the software house.
This means that the overall sales could have been much more. Certainly, the pre-launch campaign of the game has created a hype around which few have been able to resist. However, as soon as the game was released, the dreams of many literally collapsed.
In the next two months, January and February, the software house has promised to release two big and important updates that will significantly improve the game especially on the older generation consoles (those most affected by technical problems).
Finally, we remind you that Cyberpunk 2077 has not yet been released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, but it is possible to enjoy it (with various technical improvements) by exploiting the backward compatibility of the consoles.
