Elden Ring could be launched in mid-2021. At least one current insider rumor suggests that. There is no official release confirmation yet.
With Elden Ring, FromSoftware has a game in the works that hasn’t been heard too much in the past few months. Beyond the game’s first reveal trailer at E3 2019, there has been essentially no extensive news about the game. But if a current rumor turns out to be true, we could soon see and hear more about the title.
A recent report states that FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment had internally planned the release of Elden Ring for early 2021. This information comes through an insider named Taepo.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic and the burden it puts on developers around the world is said to have caused FromSoftware to delay the game’s release for a few additional months. A release in the summer of next year would therefore be possible.
Whether the insider’s statements are true is still not yet known. But despite the fact that FromSoftware was quite silent about Elden Ring this year, a possible release in 2021 does not seem absurd. The studio’s last project called Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was released in early 2019, which means that almost two years have now passed that could flow into the game.
It was also confirmed that Elden Ring is actively being worked on and that the title is making progress was recently made clear by a statement by Microsoft’s Phil Spencer.
In an interview to GameSpot, the Xbox chief emphasized that he recently had the opportunity to play the game extensively. He was enthusiastic and was able to confirm that you can expect the most ambitious project from game director Hidetaka Miyazaki.
