Streets of Rage 4 is one of the great surprises of the year. Because when it was considered that little could be done to revive a franchise, yet iconic, but forgotten for many years. The team led by Dotemu delivered an authentic title to the fans of yesteryear and an interesting and attractive proposal for the current generation. Thanks to this, attention has been placed on Dotemu regarding its upcoming projects and there is good news about it.
During a question and answer session on Reddit, Cyrille Imbert, CEO of Dotemu, revealed that there are plans to bring more content to Streets of Rage 4, which will or will not come true depending on the commercial performance that the video game has.
However, the biggest news came later when a fan asked if Streets of Rage 4 was intended as the start of an installment series or just as an additional release, to which Imbert noted: “We haven’t discussed it yet but we’d like to first focus on SoR4 and continue to add content. But at DotEmu we are currently working on three unannounced similar projects, so stay tuned.”
Obviously, Imbert’s statements refer to new titles of classic franchises that have been trapped in time. What IP would you like to see back with a treatment like the one Dotemu gave to Streets of Rage 4?
The new installment of the beat ’em up series also features a battle mode and will have the presence of several characters, among which old fighters stand out, who will keep their aesthetic in pixels.
Streets of Rage 4 is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
