Stellar Blade Scarlet and Volt’s Circumstance DLC Mission Guide

Stellar Blade Scarlet

Scarlet and Volt’s Circumstance is the fourth mission in the Goddess of Victory: Nikke DLC for Stellar Blade. In this mission, you help Scarlet and her robotic dog, Volt, track down a Box Robot in the Great Desert to recover a Rabbit Doll. This guide will walk you through the mission, with steps and tips to complete it easily, including how to solve the puzzle, survive the defense minigame, and beat the boss.

How to Start the Quest

  1. Unlock the Nikke DLC: Complete the main story mission “Xion, the Last Remaining City” to access the Wasteland. Progress to the “Abyss Levoire” mission to unlock the Great Desert.
  2. Find Scarlet and Volt: Head to the central Wasteland, just south of the main entrance. Look for Volt, a small robotic dog, near some containers. Interact with Volt to trigger a cutscene with Scarlet, who offers the Nikke DLC missions.
  3. Accept the Quest: Talk to Scarlet after completing the previous DLC mission, “Scarlet and Volt’s Plight.” Select “Scarlet and Volt’s Circumstance” to start. Scarlet asks you to retrieve a Rabbit Doll from a Box Robot in the Great Desert.

Quest Objectives

  • Follow Volt to a Box Robot in the southern Great Desert.
  • Solve a platforming puzzle to reach the robot.
  • Defend Lily in a shooting minigame against enemy waves.
  • Defeat the Elder Naytiba boss.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

  1. Follow Volt to the Great Desert:
    • After accepting the quest, Volt runs off. Follow him to the southern part of the Great Desert, near a broken bridge, just beneath a high platform.
    • Fast Travel Tip: Use the phone booth west of the broken bridge to get close. It’s a short walk east from there.
    • When you arrive, Volt barks at a Box Robot floating near the edge of a high platform.
  2. Solve the Platforming Puzzle:
    • Find a yellow crate hidden behind a rock near the platform. Push or drag it to the base of a pillar under the broken bridge.
    • Climb onto the crate, jump to the pillar, and grab the handlebars above to swing up to the platform.
    • Interact with the Box Robot to start the shooting minigame.
    • Tip: If the crate won’t move, clear nearby debris or enemies first. Ensure it’s flush against the pillar for an easy jump.
  3. Complete the Shooting Minigame:
    • The minigame is a shooting gallery where you defend Lily from enemy waves using a Militaria weapon. Your goal is to keep the blue Defense Bar above 50%.
    • Use three concrete blocks as cover. Switch between them (left, middle, right) to avoid damage, as they break over time.
    • Wave Breakdown:
      • Wave 1: Cricket Boomers, Wasters, and a Barnacle in the foreground, with a Turret Droid on a raised platform. Prioritize the Turret Droid to stop its heavy damage.
      • Wave 2: More Cricket Boomers, Wasters, a Hydra, Sentryborgs, and another Turret Droid. Focus on the Turret Droid and Hydra.
      • Wave 3: Similar to Wave 2, with more projectile enemies. Use yellow upgrade robots (they explode near enemies) to clear groups.
      • Wave 4: Four Mutated Mites charge your position. Shoot them quickly to prevent close-range damage.
    • Combat Tips:
      • Shoot yellow robots to create explosions that stun enemies.
      • Shoot green robots for health pickups if your cover is breaking.
      • Use Triangle Burst (when the Burst gauge fills) for area-of-effect damage to clear waves faster.
      • Dodge the Corrupter’s yellow globe attack by switching cover when you see it coming.
      • Take out Cricket Boomers and Turret Droids first, as they deal the most damage.
  4. Defeat the Elder Naytiba Boss:
    • After the waves, an Elder Naytiba spawns. You fight it from cover, using the same shooting mechanics.
    • Aim for its weak points (glowing spots on its head and limbs) to deal maximum damage.
    • Switch cover to avoid its heavy attacks, like energy blasts or melee slams.
    • Use Triangle Burst when available and shoot yellow robots to stun the boss.
    • Tip: Stay patient and keep moving between cover. If your health drops, grab green robot pickups.
    • Defeating the Elder Naytiba rewards you with the Rabbit Doll key item.
  5. Return to Scarlet:
    • Fast travel back to Scarlet in the Wasteland or walk to her location.
    • Talk to her and hand over the Rabbit Doll to complete the mission.

Rewards

  • 2 Bone-Wrenches: Used to buy Nikke-themed outfits (e.g., Elegant Dress, Elysian Combat Uniform) or hairstyles from Volt’s vendor shop in the Wasteland.
  • Progress toward the final Nikke DLC mission, “Scarlet and Volt’s Quagmire.”
  • Story progression in the Nikke crossover narrative.

Tips for Success

  • Gear Up: Equip a strong Exospine (like the Reflex-Type) and maxed Beta Skills for faster Burst gauge buildup. These help in the shooting minigame.
  • Prioritize Turrets: Always take out Turret Droids first in each wave to reduce incoming damage.
  • Use Cover Wisely: Switch cover before it breaks completely. Watch for enemy attacks like the Corrupter’s globe to time your moves.
  • Save Ammo: Focus on weak points during the boss fight to conserve Militaria weapon ammo.
  • Fast Travel: Use nearby phone booths to cut down travel time, especially if you die and need to retry.
  • Practice Shooting: If you struggle with the minigame, replay earlier Nikke missions (like “Scarlet and Volt’s Situation”) to get used to the mechanics.

Why This Mission Matters

Scarlet and Volt’s Circumstance is a fun mix of platforming, shooting, and boss combat, offering a break from Stellar Blade’s usual melee focus. The 2 Bone-Wrenches help you unlock cool Nikke outfits, and the mission’s story ties into the DLC’s narrative about Scarlet’s quest. It’s quick (about 15-20 minutes) but action-packed, making it a great addition to the Nikke crossover.
