A new report suggests that the third Star Wars Jedi game from Respawn Entertainment could release as early as 2026, even after the studio faced layoffs and internal changes last year.
Insider Tim Gettys from Kinda Funny Games hinted on a recent podcast: “I’ve heard some things”, pointing to a 2026 reveal or launch. This follows Jedi: Survivor in April 2023, making it about three years later – similar to the gap between “Fallen Order” (2019) and “Survivor”.
Respawn hit turbulence in April 2025 with around 100 layoffs and two cancelled projects, including a Star Wars FPS. Despite this, EA confirmed Jedi 3 is in full production as the trilogy’s finale, with Cal Kestis returning.
Rumors point to Unreal Engine 5, post-“Survivor” timeline, and high polish to avoid past issues. Neither EA nor Respawn has confirmed a date. With no recent Star Wars showcases, 2026 feels ambitious but possible. Excitement builds for Cal’s final adventure!
