Fans of the classic adventure game Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers can look forward to a special enhanced version for the Amiga computer. Developer Darasco from the Spanish SCP group is working on a remake that improves the graphics and colours to fit the Amiga’s Original Chip Set (OCS), fixing issues from the original 1991 port.
The original Space Quest IV came out for PC but had a rushed Amiga version with poor colours and graphics that didn’t match the game’s fun style. Darasco’s project rebuilds it from scratch, using the PC version’s assets to create a proper 32-colour palette and smoother visuals on real Amiga hardware or emulators.
A work-in-progress video shows early results: Roger Wilco looks sharp, rooms pop with better colours, and animations feel right. It’s playable now but still being polished for a full 2025 release.
Indie Retro News called it exciting news for Amiga fans, noting how it “rights Sierra’s wrongs” from the rushed original. NotebookCheck praised it as “the Amiga port it deserves.”
You can follow progress on forums like English Amiga Board or watch the WIP video on YouTube. For lovers of point-and-click adventures and retro gaming, this free fan project brings back a Sierra classic in style. Keep an eye out for the final version soon!
