After complicated years, the Resident Evil series returned with great force thanks to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil 2 Remake. For this reason, there are reports that ensure that the series could be annualized, and if they are true, next year a new adventure would come from this franchise. However, fans may not be happy with what will be revealed as a source indicates that its content may disturb them.
According to DuskGolem, a horror enthusiast who has revealed information about the new Resident Evil, the next instalment of the series began to be developed in late 2016. This means that the project will take just over 4 years once it debuts at some point, in 2021 perhaps. It is worth mentioning that he assured that it will be a cross-gen game, so it is expected that we can enjoy it on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
(1/3)Ah what the Hell, I'll tease a bit more about this 2021 RE game & then not talk deeper about it until a bit after RE3 is out. The 2021 RE game started development in late 2016, by the time it releases it'll have been in development for 4-4.5 years (been in dev at the moment

The really interesting thing is that DuskGolem pointed out that its development will be very similar to that of the original Resident Evil 3. While he decided to avoid going deeper into this, he did mention that it will be the largest deviation the franchise has given, so much so that he expects many people to end up angry after its revelation. Of course, he invited his followers to be open-minded, since he assures that it will be a quality game.
“The announcement for it will be really soon, and it’s by far the biggest departure the series has ever taken, to the point I expect a lot of people will be pissed off about it when it gets revealed, but they should be open-minded. Internal testing and the like show it’s a high-quality game, and I’m quite excited for it,” explained DuskGolem.
