At E3 2018 Microsoft announced the founding of The Initiative, a new development studio. Since then, little has been revealed about this company; however, many believe that it is working on a remake or reboot of Perfect Dark. Now information has emerged that seems to indicate that a new title will be back pretty soon.
What happened is that, in his Linkedin profile, Chriostopher Ng, former technical designer of The Initiative, revealed some of the things he achieved in the Xbox Game Studios studio. There he revealed that he programmed in Unreal Engine 4 and that he designed several systems for a new project.
What’s really interesting is that Ng mentioned that he designed and programmed elements such as “various weapons, gadgets, and a camera surveillance system for an unannounced project.” As you can imagine, the above generated that it is referring to a new Perfect Dark.
Now, it is important to note that the first project of The Initiative is still under wraps. So, you should take this information with a grain of salt. After all, it’s just a guess.
Also, it is important to remember that Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox, suggested that it won’t be long before we get to know the first games for Xbox Series X. So, it could be a matter of weeks or months for us to get to know the game from this studio.
Perfect Dark was released for Nintendo 64, GameBoy Color, and Xbox LIVE Arcade. Would you like to play a new Perfect Dark? Tell us in the comments below.
