New Free-to-Play Dragon Ball MOBA with 4v4 Battles Launches on Steam

Bandai Namco and developer Ganbarion have launched Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra, a new free-to-play multiplayer game, on Steam. Released on September 9, 2025, this team-based action game features exciting 4v4 battles with iconic Dragon Ball characters. It’s also available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android, with full cross-platform play and progress sharing.

Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra is the first Dragon Ball game in the MOBA style, where two teams of four players fight to control objectives and defeat opponents. Players can choose from fan-favorite characters like Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin, Gohan, Cell, Android 17, Android 18, Trunks, Majin Buu, and more.

Each character fits one of three roles: Damage for attacking, Tank for taking hits, or Technical for supporting the team. The game includes powerful moves like Divine Draw, which gives random abilities, and Gekishin Burst, a strong attack inspired by the Gods of Destruction.

The game has earned “Mostly Positive” reviews on Steam, with over 250 reviews praising its fast-paced battles and colorful graphics. To celebrate over three million pre-registrations, all players receive a free Mini Goku character.

The game supports nine languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Japanese, making it accessible worldwide.

Built on Google Cloud for smooth online play, Gekishin Squadra offers character customization with skins, entrance animations, and special finishing moves. An open network test ran from June 12 to 16, 2025, giving players an early taste of the action. Bandai Namco held a launch event in Tokyo on August 29, 2025, showcasing a cinematic trailer and live gameplay.

This free-to-play title is a fresh take on Dragon Ball, focusing on teamwork and strategy. It’s available now on Steam and other platforms, inviting players to jump into intense 4v4 battles with their favorite characters.
