Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Story Details Leak After Nintendo Sets Release Date

Nintendo confirmed during its September 12 Nintendo Direct that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will launch on December 4, 2025, for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. A new trailer showcased action-packed gameplay, including Samus Aran speeding through levels on a futuristic motorcycle. However, a fresh leak from a Japanese promotional copy of the game has revealed key story details, exciting fans but spoiling some surprises.

In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Samus Aran, the iconic bounty hunter in her powerful suit, lands on the mysterious planet Viewros after her spaceship crashes during a fight with Space Pirates, a group of evil aliens trying to control the galaxy.

Stranded, she must navigate dangerous landscapes and uncover the planet’s secrets to survive and escape. The story continues the Metroid Prime series, where Samus battles these pirates and strange creatures called Metroids.

The leak reveals a big twist: Samus gains psychic powers after finding an ancient artifact in Viewros’s ruins. This artifact connects to her suit, letting her move objects with her mind and aim her arm cannon more precisely.

These abilities help her solve puzzles and defeat tough enemies, playing a central role in the story as she learns about Viewros’s hidden past and faces a new galactic threat.

Another major detail is the return of Sylux, a rival bounty hunter who appeared in earlier games. The leak suggests Sylux works with the Space Pirates and Metroids, forming risky alliances that add drama to the plot. Samus will clash with him in epic battles, often while riding her new motorcycle, the Vi-O-La, through deserts and forests, dodging attacks and fighting on the move.

Developed by Retro Studios, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond blends shooting, explorasOURCEtion, and puzzles in a vast world. Classic moves like rolling into a ball for tight spaces and scanning for clues are back, enhanced by the new psychic powers and bike-riding action.

The game will cost $59.99 on the Switch and $69.99 on the Switch 2, with better graphics on the newer console. Amiibo figures of Samus, her Vi-O-La bike, and Sylux will launch alongside it.

Nintendo has kept story details under wraps to build excitement, but this leak has sparked lively discussions online. Some fans are thrilled for a glimpse into Samus’s adventure, while others wish they’d avoided spoilers. The game supports cross-platform play between Switch and Switch 2, and pre-orders are open now.

With the release just months away, Nintendo may share more official details soon to counter the leak. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond promises a thrilling chapter for fans when it arrives this holiday season.
