As the developers of IO Interactive announced, Hitman 3 buyers on the PS5 will receive a free copy for the PlayStation 4. This ensures that the VR mode of Hitman 3 can also be played on Sony’s new console.
This week the Danish developers from IO Interactive gave us new impressions and details about their upcoming project Hitman 3.
As the studio also announced, everyone who purchases Hitman 3 for the PlayStation 5 will receive the implementation for the PlayStation 4 as a free download on top of that. No matter whether the PS5 version is purchased in the digital version or the retail version. This step ensures that PS5 players can also enjoy the VR mode of Hitman 3, which can be played on Sony’s new console via backward compatibility.
“You can either play Hitman 3 in PS VR natively on your PS4 or via backward compatibility on PS5. To make sure all PS VR owners can experience the game in VR, we’re including a free digital copy of the PS4 version of Hitman 3 with all PS5 copies, whether you choose to buy it via disc or digital,” said IO Interactive on PlayStation blog.
Anyone who should buy Hitman 3 first on the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4 will be given the opportunity to upgrade their game to the next-gen version at a later date free of charge. On the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5, Hitman 3 will run at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second – naturally including support for HDR.
Hitman 3 will be released on January 20, 2021 for the PS4 and PS5, among others.
