There are many amateurs and professionals who continue to skate and some continue to hope that some of the series that were successful in video games will return. In the case of Skate, only bad news has been received from Electronic Arts as there are no plans for a big installment. But that does not mean that there could not be a launch of Skate 4 and also a Skate 3 for mobile phones.
According to information revealed by former pro skateboard and entrepreneur Jason Dill. An EA representative sought him out 10 months ago to speak to him about a project related to Skate. But not for consoles or PC: “I got a call from the EA people about 10 months ago, and they said, “Hey, we want to talk about the Skate game. I said that’s fine.” At the time, the rep informed Dill that there were plans to launch Skate 3 Mobile, an adaptation of the franchise’s last big title.
Upon hearing the news, Jason Dill didn’t take it in the best way and replied, “Hey, no big deal, but nobody wants your stupid mobile version of Skate 3. Make Skate f–king 4 already, cuz just, like, do it. Just make the game and participate again. You can’t level it up to the same numbers you get on other games, you do it for a cultural thing that pays you back later.”
So far, there is no official information from EA regarding Skate 3 Mobile. But it is a fact that the company has no interest in launching a fourth installment for current generation consoles and PCs.
In related information, rumors surrounding the return of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater continue to appear and some assure that there will be remakes of the first 2 installments, while an alleged leak indicates that a new title for the series is on the way.
