Diablo IV Season 8 PTR: Full List of 24 Boss Powers Revealed

With Diablo IV gearing up for the launch of Season 8: Belial’s Return, Blizzard has introduced a revolutionary new feature: Boss Powers. These game-changing powers, drawn from the vanquished bosses of Sanctuary, enable players to personalize their builds like never before. With 24 distinct Boss Powers to choose from—each boasting a Main Power and a Modifier Power—players can test out deadly combinations to conquer the forces of darkness.

Here’s the complete list of Diablo IV Season 8 PTR Boss Powers, including their effects and how to obtain them:

Boss Powers Available at Any Difficulty Level

Wandering Death’s Chest Beam (World Boss: Wandering Death)

  • Main: While channeling a skill, spawn a beam that deals 300% Frostbite damage per second. Enemies hit take 50%[x] increased damage from you for 1 second.
  • Modifier: Instantly kills non-boss mobs that have less than 15% Life. Killing mobs gives 25 Primary Resource.

Ashava’s Poison Breath (World Boss: Ashava)

  • Main: An attack on an enemy with Damage over Time sends a wave of acid that hits for 400% Poisoning damage over the course of 4 seconds. Adds 10% more Poisoning for every 1% of the target’s current Life hit by Damage over Time.
  • Modifier: Once every activation, hurting an enemy with your Main Boss Power also deals 45% Poisoning damage over 3 seconds.

Avarice’s Explosive Ore (World Boss: Avarice the Gold Cursed)

  • Main: If you accrue excess Primary Resource, create a Piece of Ore that will after 2.5 seconds explode and apply 700% Fire damage. You are able to create up to 3 Pieces of Ore simultaneously.
  • Modifier: Using your Main Boss Power consumes all of your Primary Resource to raise its damage by 1.5%[x] for each point spent.

Allek’s Talons (Apparition Incursion Event)

  • Main: Casting a Basic Skill deals 200% Sparking damage over 4 seconds to enemies it strikes.
  • Modifier: 5% Movement Speed, increased by 0.5% for every 1% Cooldown Reduction you possess, up to a cap of 11%.

Beastmaster’s Training (Apparition Incursion Event)

  • Main: Whenever you summon a Summon Skill or summon a Mercenary to Reinforce, one of your Summons or Mercenaries taunts enemies and acquires 40% Damage Reduction.
  • Modifier: Your Summons have 5%[x] increased damage, with an additional 0.25%[x] added for every 1% Bonus Critical Strike Damage you possess from items and Paragon, to a cap of 17%[x].

Blackmailer’s Sabotage (Apparition Incursion Event)

  • Main: Casting a Core Skill while you have a Barrier knocks down nearby enemies for 1.1 seconds. Cannot be applied to the same enemy more than once every 5 seconds.
  • Modifier: Whenever you acquire Fortify, gain an additional 20% of the amount as Barrier.

Flesh Reaper’s Disruption (Apparition Incursion Event)

  • Main: Blasting a Vulnerable enemy strips the Vulnerable and stuns them and nearby enemies for 0.5 seconds. This stun deals 100% additional Stagger to Bosses.
  • Modifier: Receive 5%[x] Vulnerable Damage, plus 0.25%[x] for every 1% of Crowd Control Duration Bonus you possess, up to 10.5%[x].

Hatred’s Embrace’s Haste (Apparition Incursion Event)

  • Main: Casting a Shadow or Fire Skill increases Movement Speed by 1.1% for 3 seconds, up to 11%.
  • Modifier: 5%[+] Critical Strike Chance, increased by 0.5%[+] for every 1% of Shadow Resistance you possess, up to 22.5%[+].

Kirma’s Sparks (Apparition Incursion Event)

  • Main: During Evade, deal 200% Sparking damage over 4 seconds to nearby enemies.
  • Modifier: Your Evade Cooldown decreases by 5%, increases by 0.2% for every 1% Lightning Resistance from your bonus, up to a cap of 11%.

Outlaw Sharpshooter’s Eye (Apparition Incursion Event)

  • Main: Slowing Direct Damage to a Far enemy slows surrounding enemies and the target by 40% for 5 seconds.
  • Modifier: You deal more damage to enemies the farther they are away from you, up to 10.5 %[x].

Sinerat’s Flames (Apparition Incursion Event)

  • Main: A Mobility Skill ignites close enemies for 200% Burning damage over 4 seconds.
  • Modifier: 5%[x] increased damage to all Elements. For every 1% of an Element’s Resistance from bonuses, gain 0.2%[x] increased damage for that Element, up to a maximum of 15.5%[x].

Skerg’s Toxins (Apparition Incursion Event)

  • Main: When an opponent puts a Damage over Time effect on you, inflict 1000% Poisoning damage on them over 4 seconds.
  • Modifier: When you receive damage from a Damage Over Time effect, there is a 5% chance to heal instead, based on a 50% bonus to your Poison Resistance, up to 12%.

Torusk’s Rage (Apparition Incursion Event)

  • Main: Destroying a Crowd Controlled enemy makes them and nearby enemies Unstoppable, but you get 10.5%[x] increased Damage, Attack Speed, and Movement Speed for 3 seconds.
  • Modifier: You gain 5%[+] Attack Speed, with an additional 0.25%[+] per 1% Damage to Crowd Controlled Enemies, up to a maximum of 10.5%[+].

Boss Skills Requiring Torment I or Above

Belial’s Crystal Decoy (Lair Boss: Belial)

  • Main: When you use an Agility, Defensive, or Macabre Skill, create a crystal that taunts monsters and explodes after 3 seconds, inflicting 600% Shadow damage.
  • Modifier: Active your Main Boss Power scares surrounding monsters for 0.75 seconds and inflicts 50% Shadow damage upon them.

Lilith’s Wind of Hate (Lilith)

  • Main: On skill cast, attack enemies with a 2-second wave of spikes that deals 250% Physical damage. Enemies take 60%[x] increased damage from Wind of Hate with each hit, up to 300%[x].
  • Modifier: Hitting an Elite enemy with a Main Boss Power creates an inert Blister Clone with 10% of their Maximum Life for 15 seconds. Killing the Blister removes 5.25% of the Elite’s Life.

Duriel’s Burrow (Greater Lair Boss: Duriel)

  • Main: When Evading, you dig underground, immobilizing the enemies around you for 5 seconds and dealing 200% damage on the way in and out. You deal 200% damage each 0.25 seconds that you are buried.
  • Modifier: Using your Main Boss Power gives 21%[+] Dodge chance increased for 2 seconds.

Belial’s Eye Beams (Exalted Lair Boss: Belial, Lord of Lies)

  • Main: On consumption of a Healing Potion, receive 75% Damage Reduction for 2 seconds and cast eye beams that corrupt enemies for 1,750% damage over the course of 3.5 seconds.
  • Modifier: Tapping your Main Boss Power provides impenetrable Stealth for 2 seconds. You gain 11%[x] enhanced Overpower Damage while in Stealth.

Andariel’s Flaming Skull (Greater Lair Boss: Andariel)

  • Main: Stand still for 1 second and call a skull that spins around you and spews fire, incinerating enemies for 1200% damage over 3 seconds.
  • Modifier: Enemies burning from your Damage over Time take 21% more damage.

Beast in the Ice’s Sleet (Start Lair Boss: Beast in the Ice)

  • Main: Cast 3 Skills with Crowd Control or Stagger effects and shoot sleet spikes that strike for 800% Cold damage and freeze the enemy for 2 seconds.
  • Modifier: Your Main Boss Power now freezes enemies it hurts for 2.5%[x].

Grigoire’s Lightning Square (Initiate Lair Boss: Grigoire)

  • Main: Upon casting a Core Skill, lightning tiles outward for 1.2 seconds, inflicting 300% Lightning damage per strike.
  • Modifier: Every activation, striking an enemy with your Main Boss Power stuns affected enemies for 0.25 seconds.

Lord Zir’s Blood Pool (Initiate Lair Boss: Lord Zir)

  • Main: When you harm an enemy, create a puddle of blood that inflicts 400% Bleeding damage every second for 4 seconds. You can maintain up to 3 active puddles.
  • Modifier: Using your Main Boss Power at once will heal you for 5.5% of your Maximum Life over the course of 3 seconds.

Varshan’s Life Steal (Initiate Lair Boss: Varshan)

  • Main: For each 25% of Maximum Life lost, add a leeching beam to the assailant, refunding 10% of your Maximum Life and applying 1200% Corrupting damage over 3 seconds to him.
  • Modifier: Activating your Main Boss Power deals nearby enemies 200% Corrupting damage over 2 seconds.

Urivar’s Lobbed Bombs (Initiate Lair Boss: Urivar – Vessel of Hatred expansion)

  • Main: Upon casting an Ultimate Skill, lob 4 bombs that inflict 800% Fire damage and decrease your Ultimate Skill’s Cooldown by 5 seconds.
  • Modifier: Slaying an enemy with your Main Boss Power decreases your Ultimate Skill’s Cooldown by 0.2 seconds.

Harbinger of Hatred’s Volley (Greater Lair Boss: Harbinger of Hatred – Vessel of Hatred expansion required)

  • Main: On hitting a Vulnerable enemy, fire piercing projectiles lasting 1.3 seconds, inflicting 400% Fire damage and applying Vulnerable. Inflicts 40%[x] damage to Vulnerable enemies.
  • Modifier: Casting a Basic Skill at Max Resource spends all of it to make all enemies within its area Vulnerable. Using your Main Boss Power gives 11%[x] more Vulnerable Damage for 5 seconds.
