Fans of mystery stories can now try a free preview of the upcoming game “Dark Auction”. The demo is out today on Steam for PC, giving players a taste of the adventure before the full game arrives next year.
“Dark Auction” is a story-driven game where you play as Noah, a young man who lives with his unusual father, Leonardo. The father collects old items linked to a secret figure called “Dictator X.” One day, an invitation comes for a special auction at an old castle, selling these rare objects. Leonardo goes despite Noah’s worries, but soon Noah finds himself stuck inside the castle with other guests. A strange auctioneer pulls Noah into the event, and he must explore the castle, study the items, and uncover hidden truths about his father’s past.

The demo lets you experience the start of the story, including the first auction round and some castle exploration. It shows off the game’s mix of puzzle-solving, talking to characters, and piecing together clues in a tense, atmospheric setting.
The game comes from writer Rika Suzuki, who created stories for classics like “Another Code” and “Hotel Dusk: Room 215”. The characters are drawn by Kohske, known for the “GANGSTA.” comics, and the music is by Yuko Komiyama, who worked on “Monster Hunter”. Voice actors include Kengo Kawanishi as Noah and Show Hayami as the auctioneer, bringing the tale to life with strong performances.
The full “Dark Auction” will launch on January 29, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Publisher Good Smile Company and developer IzanagiGames hope the demo will build excitement for this deep, engaging mystery.
