Capcom has not yet officially revealed anything about Resident Evil 8. However, information is already circulating on some details of the new installment of the mainline of the series. Thanks to these details, the new iteration is expected to be the darkest of all and to be revealed soon. Apparently, this title will also have a major impact on the design of the main characters, at least on Chris Redfield.
According to reports, it’s been known that Capcom’s alleged new project will star Ethan, who arrived in the series in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. However, Chris Redfield would also have an important role in the new story. Initially, the source that leaked the game’s supposed name had mentioned that Claire Redfield’s brother would be somewhat different. And recently information emerged that point to the character being redesigned.
After receiving some questions about it, the Twitter user Dusk Golem, recognized for leaking truthful information about horror titles like Resident Evil 8, confirmed that the rumors about a possible redesign of Chris Redfield.
The appearance of this Capcom character has already been redesigned on some occasions. The last one happened in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, in which the character can be seen in some features that have varied according to the different installments of the series. In fact, in the animated film Resident Evil: Vendetta he can be seen with a more different appearance.
A new redesign would not be strange. In recent years, Capcom has worked on remakes with new designs for the iconic characters. So it wouldn’t be uncommon to see them modify Redfield once again in order to present an updated version of this character. Unfortunately, Dusk Golem did not give any further information about it. So we don’t know if it will be a redesign with minor changes or if it will have a big impact on the original appearance.
