In preparation for the pandemonium that is to come, Blizzard has officially launched the Diablo IV Public Test Realm (PTR) for Season 8: Belial’s Return, from March 11 to March 18. This PTR provides gamers with an opportunity to experience forthcoming changes, such as new features and updates related to the base game and the much-awaited Vessel of Hatred expansion.
The PTR is also an important proving ground for Blizzard to test balance changes, bug fixes, and new systems in advance of the season launch. The feedback received through the PTR helps provide a smooth and entertaining experience for the launch. Some of the key features of the PTR include Boss Powers, which is a game-changing feature that enables players to use the powers of defeated bosses to power up their builds.
Boss Powers: An Additional Layer of Build Choice
Boss Powers will change the way that players think about building their characters in Diablo IV. By defeating 24 exclusive bosses in Sanctuary—World Bosses, Apparition Incursion event bosses, and even Lilith herself—players are able to drain their powers and put them into their characters as super-abled new skills.
Each Boss Power comes with two effects: a Main Power and a Modifier Power. Players can equip up to one Main Power and three Modifier Powers at a time, creating a dynamic system that encourages experimentation and customization.
- Main Powers: These are the centerpiece of your build, offering a dominant ability that defines your playstyle.
- Modifier Powers: These complement your Main Power, amplifying its effects or adding new layers of utility.
Whether you’re looking to bolster your damage output, enhance survivability, or unlock new synergies, Boss Powers provide a fresh way to tailor your Wanderer’s capabilities.
